NOAA RadarUS is a fast, simple, and reliable weather app that provides hi-resolution, predictive radar and severe weather warnings. With millions of satisfied customers, this app is a must-have for viewing animated weather radar images.

Unique features of the app include the choice of radar images with or without snow/freezing rain display, hourly predicted radar from NOAA weather models, and a selection of radar color schemes. The clutter control feature helps to suppress false radar echoes, and there is also an optional image smoothing function that allows for either removing image pixellation or displaying the radar image as accurately as possible. Users can also access composite images of echo tops, composite reflectivity, and storm total precipitation.

In addition to these features, users can enjoy 7-day forecasts and current conditions by pressing and holding on the radar map. Severe weather warnings are also available, with users able to tap on a warning box to see the full warning message from the National Weather Service (please note that these are not push alerts and the app must be open to view the warnings). The app also provides cloud cover and satellite imagery for the continental United States, as well as advanced radar layers such as echo tops, composite reflectivity, and storm total precipitation.

The app offers convenient features like play, pause, and step animations, fast zoom in and zoom out functions, a choice of radar palettes, and multiple map styles including terrain, map, satellite, and hybrid. Users also have the option to view the time of radar image either as absolute time or relative to the current time. The app includes a GPS locator that displays the user's current location, and users can adjust the transparency (opacity) of radar or cloud cover overlays. Automatic refresh is available when new radar or cloud cover data is available.

Users can set their location by zip code, city name, or address, and the app also includes a legend for radar and cloud cover overlays. The app saves and restores the user's last location and zoom level for convenience.

Please note that radar coverage is limited to the continental United States, and does not include Alaska, Hawaii, or other US controlled territories.
